Academic / Training Programs

Genetika stands as one of the state's largest privately-funded research centers committed to the field of Genetic Studies. It boasts a highly esteemed faculty team with substantial teaching and research backgrounds. Genetika offers top- notch facilities for conducting research and providing training across various aspects of Genetics, including Cytogenetics and Cancer Genetics. The centre has overseen and provided guidance for over 400 postgraduate dissertations, facilitated the completion of over 10 Ph.D theses, and successfully concluded numerous research projects over the past six years.

We also provide hands on practical training in clinical genetics and Cytogenetic procedures. The short term hands on training program include:

1. Cytogenetic:

  • Basics of Tissue culture
  • Basics of Clinical Genetics and Cytogenetics
  • Preparation of different Tissue culture media
  • Lymphocyte micro and macro culture techniques
  • Preparation of Human metaphase spreads, staining and interpretation
  • Banding techniques
  • Chromosome Nomenclature and Karyotyping
  • Mutagen induced Chromosome Sensitivity Analysis for evaluating DNA repair mechanism
  • Cytokinesis Block Micronuclei (CBMN) Assay for quantifying somatic DNA damages

2. Prenatal:

  • Double Marker
  • Triple Marker
  • Quadruple Marker

3. Molecular Biology:

  • DNA Isolation
  • RNA Isolation
  • cDNA Synthesis
  • Real-Time PCR

4. Biochemical, Immunological Analysis Using Automated Analyzer

Dissertation Works:

Dissertation services are available for students pursuing postgraduate degrees in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Cytogenetics and Molecular biology at Genetika. An accomplished team of experts delivers comprehensive guidance and support throughout the dissertation process, covering aspects such as topic selection, literature review, research design, data analysis, and report writing. Close collaboration with clients ensures that the dissertations meet the rigorous quality standards set by their respective universities.

Hands-on Training:

The institute also delivers hands-on training in Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics techniques. These training programs aim to impart students and researchers with a practical grasp of the methodologies employed in these domains. The training encompasses a diverse array of techniques, including DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, karyotyping, and various others.

Ph.D Research Works

Research services in the fields of Health and Allied Health subjects, particularly in Cytogenetics and Molecular biology, are provided by the institute. A team of experts offers guidance and support across all research aspects, including topic selection, research design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. This collaborative approach ensures that the research meets the rigorous standards set by the clients' universities while maintaining the highest quality.

Short Term Training Programs

Short term hands-on workshop for undergraduates and postgraduates in life sciences. The program emphasizes cytogenetic techniques, including chromosome analysis/ karyotyping, tissue culture, chromosome preparation, banding techniques, and molecular biology methods like (DNA/RNA extraction, RT-PCR), immunological techniques, prenatal diagnostics, and ELISA. Led by experts, the workshop blends theory with practical training, and participants receive a certificate upon completion, validating their molecular biology skills.

Training Program Durations: 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months.
